A woman has died in a two-car crash on the A96 in Aberdeenshire.

The collision, involving a grey Peugeot 208 and a blue Volkswagen Passat, happened about six pm on Sunday evening, near Huntly, at the A920 junction

The road was closed for around 10 hours.

Sergeant Dave Cooper from Elgin Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.

“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
