The 14-year-old daughter of a man who died of an asthma attack in Glasgow last weekend says she doesn't know what she'll do without him.

Raymond Paterson had been for a swim when he collapsed on the way to his locker to get his inhaler on Sunday at Scotstoun Leisure Centre.

Sophie is going to her first Old Firm game with her Uncle Gerry tomorrow at Ibrox and they are hoping for an applause for him at the 42nd minute.

She told Northsound 1: "My dad was a funny guy who loved Rangers, playing music but he could never listen to a full song.

"He would get called 'Raymond half a song' as he was always pressing skip.

"We have a banner in memory of my dad and it would make me really happy to see so many other people paying tribute to him."

Sophie and her Uncle Gerry will take this banner with them to tomorrow's Old Firm game.

Sophie also wants people to be aware of the dangers of asthma and the importance of carrying an inhaler at all times.

She has had support from Glasgow campaigners including Elaine Cunningham whose daughter Lauren died of an attack at work in 2020.

She added: "My dad is getting a brick at Ibrox in his memory and I hope to keep sharing his story to help other people understand how serious asthma can really be.

"My dad just thought he was going to the gym but he never made it out.

"I've got asthma too and it has taught me an important lesson, you just never know what might happen."
