Man charged after £500,000 of heroin found in Cumbria
Discovery of drugs with weapons leads to court appearance
A 39-year-old man from Aberdeen has been charged after officers in Cumbria found heroin worth £500,000 in his vehicle.
Jamie Blyth was stopped by the Roads Policing Team on Thursday, 19th February.
The search uncovered 5kg of heroin along with a knife and two other weapons.
Detectives from Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime unit have charged Blyth with possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of a bladed article, and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon.
He is due to appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court on 21st February.
This seizure is part of Operation Alliance, aimed at tackling serious and organised crime in the area.
