A 12-year-old girl's been treated in hospital after being injured with a knife at an Aberdeen secondary school.

Police were called to Hazlehead Academy at around half 10 this morning, and the girl was collected by her parents, and taken to Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital for treatment.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing but they are following a positive lead, and that it's a contained incident, with no risk to the wider school community.

A City Council spokesperon said : "The incident is now over. Police were alerted and are carrying out inquiries. We cannot comment further at this stage.”
