A man has been jailed for eight years after being found guilty of drug supply and dangerous driving in Aberdeen.

Anthony Gill, who's 46, was sentenced at the city's High Court.

Police recovered diamorphine, crack cocaine and drugs worth around 2,000 pounds following a crash on Provost Fraser Drive in April 2024.

Gill was arrested in Spain a few months later and brought back to Scotland to face charges.

Detective Sergeant Sam Harris said: “This sentencing reflects our continued commitment to tackling the illegal supply of drugs in the North East and our dedication to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“Illegal drugs cause misery and harm to our communities and we will continue to use all available resources to ensure they are removed from our streets and that those involved in drug crime are apprehended.

“Information from the public is crucial in helping us to combat those involved in these types of crimes and I would encourage anyone with any information or concerns to contact Police Scotland on 101 or by calling Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
