An unexploded World War II bomb has been discovered at the Sandy Lane Business Park in Coventry, prompting road closures and evacuations.

The bomb was found during construction work in the Radford area at 2.55pm on Tuesday, 2nd June.

For public safety, a 100-metre cordon is in place, resulting in the evacuation of 96 homes.

Coventry City Council is providing support to those affected.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts are currently assessing the device, and their work is expected to continue throughout the evening and into tomorrow morning.

Emergency services and EOD teams are on-site to ensure the safe disposal of the bomb.
