To celebrate the season of holidays, BBQs and at the moment a lot of hot weather and sunshine, here are songs that have 'Summer' in their title. Hopefully they'll totally get you in the mood for dancing in the summer sunshine. Ready?

1. Isley Brothers - 'Summer Breeze'
Originally released by Seals and Crofts in 1972, 'Summer Breeze' was a hit for the Isley Brothers in 1974. Their version of the song reached Number 16 in the UK.

2. ABBA - 'Summer Night City'
ABBA released their song 'Summer Night City' in 1978. It was written as a tribute to their home town of Stockholm. The song became a Top 5 hit for the band and although it was recorded during the time they recorded their album 'Voulez-Vous', it didn't feature on that album, instead being included on their 'Greatest Hits Vol. 2', a year later. It was later included as a bonus track on re-issues of 'Voulez-Vous'.

3. Bananarama - 'Cruel Summer'
Released in the UK in June 1983, the song was a big hit here reaching Number 8 in the charts. The song also featured in the film Karate Kid, released the following year, leading to a release in the USA in July 1984.

4. The Style Council - 'Long Hot Summer'
The Style Council, consisting of Mick Talbot and Paul Weller, and later drummer Steve White and vocalist Dee C. Lee, released their song 'Long Hot Summer' in 1983. The song was written by Paul Weller, and became a Top 3 hit for the band.

5. Dodgy - 'Staying Out For The Summer'
Dodgy released their song 'Staying Out For The Summer' in 1994, 1995 and again in 2019. The 1995 version of the song was a Top 20 hit for the band in June of that year.

6. Squeeze - 'This Summer'
Squeeze's song 'This Summer' was released in August 1995. The song was a minor hit for the band who then re-released it the following year, which saw the song have slightly more success. The song features on the band's eleventh album 'Ridiculous'.

7. Texas - 'Summer Son'
'Summer Son' was released in 1999 and went to Number 5 in the UK. The song was featured on Texas' fifth studio album called 'The Hush', and became one of the band's biggest songs around Europe.

8. Don Henley - 'The Boys Of Summer'
'The Boys Of Summer' was written and released by Don Henley back in 1984. The song won several awards, including Video of the Year at the 1985 MTV Video Music Awards, and a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.

9. Bryan Adams - 'Summer of '69'
No list of songs with 'Summer' in the title would be complete without Bryan Adams' classic, 'Summer of '69'. The song was released in 1985 and despite its enduring popularity, didn't chart particularly well, but we still love it at Rayo.

10. Belinda Carlisle - 'Summer Rain'
Released in 1990, Belinda Carlisle's 'Summer Rain' featured on her third album 'Runaway Horses'. The song peaked at Number 23 in the UK charts when it was released, spending 10 weeks in total in the chart.

11. Mungo Jerry - 'In The Summertime'
Mungo Jerry's hit 'In The Summertime' was released in 1970 and went to Number 1 in the UK. The band's song stayed at the top spot for seven weeks, and also enjoyed success around the world, with Number 1s across Europe, Australia and Number 3 in the Billboard Hot 100. The song was later covered by Shaggy in 1995.
