The Traitors series five start date teased

It's been less than one week since series two of The Celebrity Traitors came to a dramatic end, but already attention is turning to the upcoming fifth series of The Traitors.
Following Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft's victory on Friday 30th October, the BBC have now started to tease series five of the civilian series, sharing photos of various murals on social media.
When is The Traitors on TV?
There's no exact start date yet, but the BBC has now confirmed the new series will begin in 2027. Sharing a mural of host Claudia Winkleman clutching a white rose, the post read: 'Cometh 2027... 👀 #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK #ClaudiaWinkleman
'The Traitors will return. Get them before they get you. Claudia Winkleman hosts the ultimate reality game of trust and treachery. Let the mind games begin'. (sic)
Series four of The Traitors kicked off on 1st January 2026, so fans will be hoping the schedule is the same.
Another mural appeared to show more of what fans can expect from the new series, with a sign saying 'more banishments, more recruitments, more murders'.
After seeing the news, fans were understandably hyped, with many commenting on their excitement. One wrote: 'yes cannot wait my fave traitors series the civilian one', with another writing: 'YAAS! Bring it on!' (sic)
Following the introduction of the Red-Cloaked Traitor in series four, which viewers weren't a fan of, show producer Stephen Lambert told fans earlier this year that the twist wasn't something show bosses "wanted to keep going".
He told university students: "I think the pleasure of the show is the fact that the audience know who the Traitors are."

Can I apply?
Series five of The Traitors was actually filmed earlier this year, so you can't apply! HOWEVER, as the show has been commissioned until at least 2030, bosses are now on the hunt for applicants for series six, which is due to air in early 2028.
Applications are scheduled to close on 31st May 2027.
