It’s been a frightening and challenging few weeks for The Only Way Is Essex star Jordan Brook. After being rushed to hospital with a mystery illness, the dad-to-be underwent a series of tests before receiving the shocking diagnosis of both meningitis and encephalitis.

The 31-year-old has been keeping his social media followers up to date on his condition as he continued to receive treatment in hospital, and now he's finally been given the all clear to head home.

Updating his fans on Wednesday 1st April, Jordan shared an Instagram Reel of himself leaving hospital, writing: 'I’M GOING HOME 🏡🥹

'22 days in a hospital bed, broken memory from my first admission. The top 1% percent of the worst case of viral meningitis and encephilitis that my Dr has ever seen. Brain swelling, inflammation. Acute memory loss, The only memories I have are ones I would like to forget forever.

'Let’s not dwell on the past. I have got through it, and I could never have got through this alone.

'Firstly my @sophiekasaei_ you and my baby boy have held me up and kept me in this fight like you wouldn’t believe. You are my whole life and I love you unconditionally. I can’t wait to get in bed with you tonight and start our future as a healthy family of 3.

'My dad @academymotorcycletraining I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am blessed and feel like 3 year old Jordan who needed he’s superman. You are my superhero my inspiration my rock, if I can be half the dad you are to my boy I will be the proudest man alive. Thank you for never leaving my side in that hospital, endless nights on the floor holding my hand - Dad I love you my best friend.

'My Mum @sammielou7 thank you for your shifts in the hospital staying over night while still working your job. Having to take your self to the hospital and my grandad all at the same time and never cracking. You are a hell of a woman and I am so thankful I love you

'To all my friends and family who visited endlessly, bringing me energy and joy, showing support and seeing things no friends or family should have to see. I’m eternally greatful and love you all dearly you know who you are.

'To the Lister Ward at Basildon hospital. Drs and nurses and all staff who I feel have become a family to me. Thank you for every thing you have done for me I owe you so much. Your compassion your warmth and total understanding at times when I was being extremely scared and hard work. You never turned your backs on me. Thank you for saving my life! You are a credit to the NHS, to humanity and amazing, kind, extremely hardworking people!

'To anyone else battling anything of this kind let this be your light - you can and will beat whatever you are going through - Never Give Up

'JB 💙' (sic)

The positive news arrives after Jordan confessed he'd 'reached a turning point' last Friday (27th March).

Giving an update, Jordan told his fans at the time: 'Baby steps - Friday Motivation. Emotional is an understatement.

'I’m so glad to say I have reached a Turing point in this nightmare. The first time I’ve felt positive. Some rehab on my legs and learning to walk again. To anyone who is going through anything similar please keep going. You are so strong. I’ve had times I never thought I would reach here. Dark times when a simple step seemed impossible. Stay strong and keep going.

'Thank you to every single kind person for your support through this. Humans really need to stick together and have compassion and be kind.

'Thank you to my family my rock my dad getting me on my feet today.

'Thanks you to every single staff member in my hospital ward you are a credit to humanity.

'Spreading love and positivity. JB is not beat yet let’s get this. Have a blessed Friday everyone 💙'. (sic)

After almost two weeks of tests, doctors were able to diagnose Jordan's symptoms, with the reality star confirming he was suffering from both viral meningitis and encephalitis.

In a video uploaded at the time, he said: “This is the first time I’ve really been able to speak strong enough about what’s going on.

“I’ve been diagnosed with not one but two joining viruses that are attacking a similar part of my body. I have got viral meningitis and encephalitis together.

“That’s the inflammation of the brain and the lining around it. So this isn’t something small or minor. I’m on IV drips, everything antiviral, pain management, physio, seizure monitoring, to minimise seizure risk at the minute.”

"But unfortunately the swelling on my brain is getting worse. Really, really tough, even with the simple day-to-day activities and normal things that aren’t easy right now.

“So this is what I’m dealing with day-today.”

Jordan will now be looking forward to spending precious time with his girlfriend Sophie Kasaei, who is currently pregnant with the couple's first child. The pair, who have been open about their fertility struggles over the years, announced over the Christmas period their wonderful news, writing: 'The most magical gift ✨🤰Merry Christmas from the three of us 🥰 🎁 🌈'. 'Thank you to everyone who has visited me in hospital and for every single message of encouragement. This will not beat me. I will get home. My family I love you more than you will ever know I couldn’t do this without you'.
