Detectives taking fresh look at evidence in Jill Dando murder case
The TV presenter's death in a shooting on the doorstep of her home in south-west London remains unsolved
Detectives are reviewing what they're calling enhanced CCTV footage, 27 years since Jill Dando was murdered.
They'll be looking back at what happened at Putney Bridge train station in west London back in 1999.
That's close to where the TV presenter was shot dead on her doorstep in Fulham in south-west London.
A Met Police spokesperson said in a statement:
"In the 27 years since Jill Dando's murder, the investigation has been subject to numerous reviews, aiming to identify whether matters could be progressed with advances in technology and forensics.
“Recent advancements in CCTV enhancement technology have provided investigators with the opportunity to re-examine original footage from Putney Bridge train station.
“The review of CCTV footage forms part of ongoing enquiries and should not be interpreted as a significant line of inquiry nor as a new investigation being opened on this matter.”
Local man Barry George was later acquitted of Jill Dando's murder in 2008 in a retrial, after spending eight years in prison.
