Scotland's biggest music festival will run on into the wee small hours of tomorrow as thousands of people stay on to watch Steve Clarke's side play Morocco later.

Tonight's headliner, Richard Ashcroft, is finishing his set at 10.30 before the World Cup is beamed in to tens of thousands of fans at Glasgow Green.

George Bowie MBE will be playing a very special GBX set for half an hour before the game starts at 11pm UK time.

George Bowie is playing a special GBX set on the main stage between Richard Ashcroft and the game starting.

Kieran Luddy is playing the King Tut's stage with his band, The Rooks.

He said: "We're at our first World Cup for 28 years, we will do our best to stay off the drink tonight to make sure we are on good form for tomorrow.

"I'm expecting hungover crowds, but it's all part of the fun.

"We've played a lot festivals over the last year and every time promoters say to us 'we can't wait for you to meet the crowd', they forget we are from Glasgow and the standard is set at home."

Getting there and back

Trian operator ScotRail is also running more carriages all weekend in and out of Glasgow to accommodate the number of fans heading out to see their favourite acts.

Extra late night services will also operate on the following routes:

• Glasgow Queen Street High Level to Edinburgh Waverley via Falkirk High.

• Glasgow Central to East Kilbride.

• Glasgow Central to Ayr (Saturday and Sunday).

• Argyle Street to Motherwell.

• Bridgeton to Garscadden.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Customer Operations Director, said: “TRNSMT is one of Scotland’s biggest music events, and we’re looking forward to playing our part in helping music fans get to and from Glasgow Green as smoothly as possible.

“We’re adding extra carriages to trains throughout the weekend and operating additional late-night services on key routes to support customers travelling home after the music ends each night.
