Teenager named after fatal motorbike crash near Pennan
Family pays tribute to Kayden Thompson
A 17-year-old motorcyclist who died in a crash near Pennan has been identified as Kayden Thompson.
The accident took place on the B9031 road between Macduff and Fraserburgh around 5.30pm on 24th August 2026.
Kayden was riding a black Honda CB500 when the vehicle was involved in a single-vehicle collision.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family expressed their grief in a statement released via Police Scotland.
“We are devastated at the loss of our deeply loved son, brother, grandson and nephew, Kayden," the statement read.
"He will be missed by all who knew him, especially family. Kayden, also known as Kayda and K: forever 17 and forever Dawn and Alan’s little boy.”
Police Appeal for Information
Sergeant Pete Henderson conveyed condolences to Kayden’s family and friends.
"Our thoughts are with Kayden’s family and friends at this very difficult time," Sergeant Henderson said.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the details surrounding the crash.
"Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened," Henderson continued.
"I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far. Your assistance is appreciated."
Sergeant Henderson has urged those who have yet to provide information, particularly those with dash-cam footage, to come forward.
