Ross County have confirmed they have launched an investigation after one of their players received racial abuse on social media.
Jordan Amissah, who featured during yesterday's 2-1 win away to Aberdeen, was recently targeted over Instagram.
The 23-year-old German, who is of Ghanaian descent, shared a screenshot on his Instagram story of monkey emojis and racial slurs he had received from an anonymous account and accompanied it with the caption: "Still some people out there with no brain and too much time on their hands."
County have confirmed they will get in touch with relevant bodies following the incident.
A club statement said: "Ross County FC is aware of racial abuse received by Jordan Amissah via Instagram following yesterday’s match.
"The club stand fully in support of Jordan and will be contacting the relevant authorities to assist with our investigation."
Amissah recently joined the Highland side on a short term deal last month.
The former Sheffield United goalkeeper has started the Staggies' last three games, a run in which Don Cowie's side have taken seven points from a possible nine to keep themselves out of the bottom two of the William Hill Premiership.
