Motorcyclist, 59, dies after A862 crash near Ardullie roundabout

A 59-year-old motorcyclist has died following a crash in Ross-shire.

Emergency services were called out to the collision on the A862 between Dingwall and the Ardullie roundabout just after 4pm yesterday.

It involved a BMW GS1250 motorbike and a silver Volkswagen Passat

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and there were no other injuries.

While enquiries were carried out, the road was shut and re-opened around 9.50pm.

Sergeant Neil MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or any of the vehicles prior to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone with dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
