Man injured after assault in Elgin

He's in a critical condition in hospital.

A 55-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked in Elgin yesterday afternoon.

It happened around 3.15pm on Harrow Inn Close, when a disturbance broke out between two men outside a business premises.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, of slim build, with short ginger hair.

He spoke with a local accent, was wearing black jogging bottoms, gloves, and a black Napapijri hooded jacket, and was seen riding a mountain bike on South Street shortly before the assault.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wilson said: “I understand this incident will be concerning for the local community.

"I can reassure them that Detectives are following several lines of enquiry, including interviewing witnesses and reviewing relevant CCTV footage."
