Man appears in court charged with murder after death of woman in Dornoch
He made no plea and has been remanded in custody
A man has appeared in court charged with murder following a woman's death in Sutherland.
Emergency services were called out to a property in Morrison Court, Dornoch, on Saturday at around 4.40pm.
It was confirmed earlier this week a 46-year-old woman died, she has been named locally as Naomi Maciver.
Tributes to her have been posted on social media.
One said: "Missing you my wee pal. So many tears for you."
Another commented: "I’m so broken to be reading this."
A third social media user said: "She was a good person. Knew her since we were about 6 years old. I'm absolutely gutted."
Daniel Sutherland, whose general address was given as Inverness, appeared in private at the city's Sheriff Court earlier today.
The 34-year-old made no plea and was remanded in custody.
