Cannabis with an estimated value of £600,000 has been recovered by officers on the Black Isle.

A vehicle was stopped in Mount High, Balblair, yesterday morning at around 9am, where the drugs worth more than half a million pounds were found.

Two men, aged 29 and 33, have been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.

They were due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today.

Detective Superintendent Brian Geddes outlined how officers are "determined to protect the public."

He said: “This recovery sends a clear message that we will not tolerate illegal drugs in our communities.

"Our officers are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the cultivation and sale of illegal substances, preventing them being circulated in our local areas and addressing the concerns of local people."
