Melissa Andreatta promised there is more to come from her Scotland team after Kathleen McGovern's last-minute equaliser secured a 1-1 draw against Belgium at Easter Road.

Despite dominating for large periods of the game and missing several chances, Scotland trailed to an early Sari Kees goal for the majority of the match.

After coming close earlier in the game, McGovern scored at her club stadium for the first time in the 95th minute.

After the game Andreatta said: "I believed in this team and believed in these individuals and that belief grows.

"I don't know what else to say about them except I believe in them.

"Our culture is resilient - we don't step back. We never stop. That's what I have learned about being here and they are reconnecting with that part of their culture.

"Everyone should be proud of them and you are going to be prouder - I am sure."

Andreatta joked that she wanted to see a McGovern 'knee slide' after her dramatic leveller.

"Kathleen is very hard on herself," said the Scotland manager.

"She will be hard on herself and disappointed but she is young and young on her journey with the national team. But it is not just on her to score our chances - I am delighted for her.

"Who wouldn't be happy to score here?

"The only disappointment was that we didn't see a knee slide - which the players all wanted to see!"

The result leaves Scotland tied with Belgium at the top of Group B4 on the road to the Brazil 2027 World Cup.

They face the reverse fixture in Leuven this Saturday.
