10 people treated in hospital after three vehicle crash near Dores

Ten people have been taken to hospital following a collision involving three vehicles in the Highlands.

Emergency services raced out to the scene of the crash on the B862 last night at around 8pm at Scaniport, between Inverness and Dores.

Six of those affected received treatment for serious and minor injuries, while the other four were also taken to hospital, but later discharged.

A black Toyota Prius, a grey Landrover Discovery, and a white Audi A3 were all involved in the incident.

The driver and passengers of the Toyota were taken to Raigmore with serious and minor injuries, while the Audi driver was also seriously injured.

Police Scotland are now urging anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash and have not already spoken to officers, to get in touch with officers.

A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following a serious crash involving three vehicles on the B862 between Inverness and Dores at Scaniport.

"The incident happened around 8.05pm on Wednesday, 2 April, and involved a black Toyota Prius, a grey Landrover Discovery, and a white Audi A3.

"Emergency services attended and the driver of the Toyota and four passengers were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness with serious and minor injuries.

"The driver of the Audi was taken to hospital with a serious injury and four passengers were also taken to hospital and later discharged.

"The driver of the Landrover was not injured.

"The road was closed and re-opened around 3am on Thursday, 3 April."

Sergeant Neil MacDonald added: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing for witnesses.

“If you were in the area and have not already spoken to officers then please get in touch.

“Anyone driving in the area around the time of the crash is asked to check dash-cam and see if they have any information that could assist with our investigation.”
