Three people have appeared in court charged in connection with a fatal shooting at a traveller site.
Shane Porter, 35, is accused of murdering Jimmy Ward, 36, in Calcutt, near Cricklade, Wiltshire, on Sunday, and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.
He appeared by video-link at Swindon Magistrates’ Court along with his father Eddie Porter, 74, and Tammy Brown, 42, on Thursday.
They are both charged with assisting an offender and possessing a shotgun without a certificate.
Porter, of Calcutt Park, Calcutt, Eddie Porter and Brown, both of Luton, Bedfordshire, were remanded into custody.
Dr Margaret Elsey, chairwoman of the bench, said: “Mr Shane Porter, you have heard that there is no application for bail and that you will appear tomorrow at Bristol Crown Court at 10am.
“For Mr Eddie Porter, you are remanded into custody. Ms Tammy Brown, you are remanded into custody.
“You will also be produced at Bristol Crown Court at 10am.”
The defendants, all wearing grey tracksuits, sat next to each other during the hearing. They spoke to give their names, dates of birth and address to the court.
Michael Levy represented Shane Porter, while Terry McCarthy appeared for Eddie Porter and Adithi Shenava represented Brown.
Wiltshire Police received a report at about 8.15am on Sunday from South Western Ambulance Service that a man had been shot at the traveller site.
Emergency services attended the scene, where Mr Ward was pronounced dead.
Prosecutor Keith Ballinger told the court: “There was an incident at the traveller site at the weekend where it is alleged Shane Porter has shot and killed Mr Ward.”
It is alleged that following the incident, Eddie Porter and Brown drove from Luton to Swindon.
Firearms officers stopped the car they were travelling in shortly after it left the M4 at the Hungerford junction on Tuesday.
The court heard a shotgun, believed to have been used in the fatal incident, had been recovered.
Shane Porter, Eddie Porter and Brown will next appear before Bristol Crown Court on Friday morning.
