The Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar is calling on Keir Starmer to resign as Prime Minister.

It's after he appointed Peter Mandelson to the job of US ambassador despite his links to the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In the last hour, he has been speaking to journalists in Glasgow saying Starmer should "do what is right for Scotland".

He said: "The situation in Downing Street is not good enough, there have been too many mistakes.

"They promised they were going to be different but too much has happened.

"Plenty of good things have happened but nobody knows them because they are being drowned out.

"That's why it cannot continue."

The First Minister John Swinney is expected to speak to the press in the next couple of hours.
