Five people have pleaded not guilty to charges relating to significant damage allegedly caused to two aircraft at RAF Brize Norton during a demonstration.

The accused are Muhammad Umer Khalid, 22, Lewis Chiaramello, 23, Amu Gib, 30, Jon Cink, 25, and Daniel Jeronymides-Norie, 36. They appeared via videolink in the Old Bailey for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

The charges include damaging property and entering a prohibited place with a purpose deemed prejudicial to the safety and interests of the UK.

The incident, which reportedly involved the damaging of two Voyager aircraft in Oxfordshire on 20th June 2025, caused an estimated £1.7 million in costs, with figures potentially rising to nearly £15 million, according to earlier court hearings.

Prosecutors suggested the group were members of Palestine Action at the time of the alleged attack. The Government later proscribed the group under anti-terror laws.

The trial has been scheduled to start on 18th January 2027 at the Old Bailey and is expected to last eight weeks.

Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb remanded Khalid, Chiaramello, Gib, Cink, and Jeronymides-Norie into custody, with no applications for bail made during the hearing.

The defendants, who include individuals from Barnet and Brent in north London and others with no fixed address, are next due to appear in court on 1st May 2026.
