Body found in Hampshire lake in search for missing teenager

A body has been found in the search for a teenager in Hampshire, who got into difficulty whilst swimming.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police have confirmed the discovery was made in water at Testwood Lakes near Totton.

The family of a 15-year-old boy, who was last seen on Wednesday 24th June 2026 are being supported by specialist officers.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police spokesperson said:

"Officers searching for a missing 15-year-old boy who was last seen swimming in water at Testwood Lakes, including those from our Marine Unit, have sadly now located a body.

"The boy’s family have been informed, and formal identification has taken place. His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."

Emergency services have been called to a number of incidents in open water across the UK during this week's heatwave.

An amber weather warning for heat remains in place in London and southeastern England, East Anglia and parts of the East Midlands until 9am tomorrow morning (Sunday 28th June 2026).
