13-year-old boy dies following crash in Grimsby

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a child on a scooter and a car

A 13-year-old boy died from injuries he suffered in a crash in Grimsby.

Humberside Police say the child was riding a scooter which collided with a car in Fairmont Road at around 6pm on Tuesday 24th March 2026.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice, while a 41-year-old man has been questioned on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Both men have been released under investigation.

Humberside Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

They are appealing for witnesses, as well as anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time of the collision, to contact them.
