Mental Health Awareness Week
Last updated 12th May 2025
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and here at Magic Radio, we're passionate about having positive conversations about how we feel. As people who talk for a living, we know how important having a chat is. Sometimes it's hard for people to know if we're struggling because often there are no physical signs. We'd love it if this week you could check in with a friend to make sure they're ok, and if they say they're 'fine' then check again. Sometimes it takes a bit of encouragement to start the important conversations.
The theme of this year's Mental Health Awareness Week is 'Community'. The aim is to make sure that nobody feels alone and that we all understand the power of a community in uniting to support each other.
If you need help or support around mental health, there are also lots of organisations who can help provide support:
Whatever you're going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. They're here 24 hours a day, 365 days a year - call 116 123 for free.
CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) runs a free, confidential helpline and webchat service offering help to anyone feeling down.
Feeling anxious, stressed, or need support? Shout is free, confidential and available 24/7. Text SHOUT to 85258 to start a conversation with a trained volunteer.
Free information and support for under 25s in the UK. Get advice about sex, relationships, drugs, mental health, money and jobs.
Tips for looking after a child or young person's mental health from the NHS. There's support available if you feel you or they need it.
