Woman hospitalised with life-threatening injuries after M5 collision
Police say the southbound carriageway will likely remain closed until around 12pm
A woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious collision on the M5 motorway.
The accident occurred on the southbound carriageway between junction 24 (Bridgwater) and junction 25 (Taunton) at around 2.15am on Saturday, 10th May.
Involved in the collision was a blue BMW, leading to significant disruptions on the motorway.
Authorities have informed the woman's next of kin as she receives urgent medical attention.
The northbound side of the motorway has been reopened; however, the southbound carriageway is expected to stay closed until approximately 12pm while investigations continue.
Motorists are being advised to consider alternative routes.
