Man charged over messages to Muslim organisation, Israeli embassy and MP

A man has been charged with sending “hateful messages” to a Muslim organisation and the Israeli embassy, as well as death threats to an MP’s office, prosecutors have said.
Nick Daly, 30, of Oxted, Surrey, is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
Eight of the offences relate to him allegedly sending Islamophobic communications to a Muslim organisation and one count to sending antisemitic messages to the Israeli embassy, the Crown Prosecution Service said.
He is also charged with leaving a threat of death or serious harm for an MP and possession of the class B drug cannabis.
The allegations span between January 27 and May 7 this year.
He is due to appear at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Kris Venkatasami, from the CPS, said: “Prosecutors have authorised criminal charges against Nick Daly following a review of the evidence referred to us by Surrey Police.
“We remind all concerned that criminal proceedings are active and Mr Daly has the right to a fair trial.
“It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
The charges relating to the Muslim organisation and Israeli embassy are that he sent a letter, communication or article conveying an indecent or offensive message.
