Urgent appeal after man who is "risk to others" escapes from secure hospital

Greater Manchester Police are appealing for help to find a man who absconded from lawful custody while being treated at North Manchester Hospital.

Marwan Jumaa, born on 18th October 2005, is currently serving a custodial sentence for assault.

He is wanted after it was reported that he had absconded after being transferred from a secure hospital facility to North Manchester Hospital for medical treatment.

Described as a risk

He is described by police as a black male, of skinny build, with short dark hair, and is approximately 5ft 10ins in height.

Jumaa is believed to have links to Bury, Prestwich and Crumpsall in Greater Manchester, as well as Leeds and London.

Detective Chief Inspector Abigail Cronin, from Greater Manchester Police, said "We are urging anybody to come forward who may have information about Marwan's whereabouts."

"I recognise that this may heighten concern within the community."

"However, I want to assure you that we have officers working around the clock to find Marwan and return him to hospital as soon as possible."

"If sighted, do not approach him, please call 999 immediately, quoting log number 3544 of 14th July 2026."

Anyone who sees Jumaa is asked not to approach him and to call 999 immediately, quoting log number 3544 of 14th July 2026.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
