Two men have died at a farm in Aston by Budworth, after falling into an industrial slurry tank.

Police were called to the scene on Cann Lane at around 12.20pm on Thursday, 26th August, and attended alongside fire and ambulance services.

Upon arrival, emergency services worked to rescue the 72-year-old and 42-year-old men from the tank, but despite their efforts, both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.

A Cheshire Police statement on Wednesday said officers were called to "an industrial incident" and "the caller had reported two men had fallen into an industrial size tank".

"Police, fire and paramedics are in attendance at the scene and rescue work is ongoing," it added.

Their next of kin have been informed, and police say they're investigating the circumstances of the incident.
