The body of a teenager has been recovered from a river in Glasgow.

Emergency services were scrambled - including a helicopter - over reports of a person in the River Kelvin near Maryhill Road just before 7pm last night.

Police say they've found the body of a 15-year-old boy.

There are no suspicious circumstances but inquiries are continuing

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.40pm on Saturday, 12 July, 2025, a search and rescue operation was launched following a report of a 15-year-old male in the River Kelvin, near Maryhill Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and around 11.30pm the body of a male was recovered from the water. Enquiries are ongoing, however, the death is not being treated as suspicious."
