Sheffield crash: Man arrested in Kent on suspicion of murder
A 16 year old boy died following a collision involving a car and an e-bike in the Darnall area of Sheffield yesterday afternoon
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Kent on suspicion of murder after a teenager was killed in a hit and run collision in Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Police have confirmed the arrest was made in connection with an incident in Staniforth Road, Darnall yesterday afternoon (Wednesday 4th June 2025).
Graphic CCTV footage of the incident in the Darnall area appears to show the car, a grey Audi, veer into the opposite carriageway before hitting the boy at speed.
A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital but later died, and the rider of an electric bike, an 18-year-old man, who was also hit by the vehicle on Staniforth Road, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital.
The driver of the Audi failed to stop at the scene.
Three people, a 45-year-old woman and two men aged 26 and 46, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and remain in custody.
