Police in South Wales have confirmed that they have launched a murder investigation in connection with the disappearance of a Cardiff woman.

37-year-old Paria Veisi, from Cathays, has not been seen since the afternoon of Saturday 12th April 2025, when she left work in a Black Mercedes.

The vehicle was located in Penylan, East Cardiff on Tuesday evening.

A man, 41, and a woman, 48, who are both known to Ms Veisi, remain in police custody having been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, the Senior Investigating Officer for South Wales Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “I currently have no proof that Paria is alive. Her family and friends are extremely concerned that they have not heard from her which is totally out of character.

“Our investigation remains focussed on Paria’s movements after she left work in Canton area on Saturday, April 12.

“Extensive CCTV and house-to-house enquiries are being carried out by a team of officers and I am appealing for anybody who has information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to make contact.”

Ms Veisi is described as having long, curly black hair and investigators said that she Qa last seen wearing a black zip-up gym top over a red top, black trousers and trainers. She was carrying a small handbag.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact South Wales Police.
