Two British tourists who were killed in a cable car crash in Naples have been named by Italian media.

65-year-old Graeme Derek Winn and Margaret Elaine Winn, who was 58, were among four people who died on Thursday after a cable reportedly snapped.

Reports suggest the British nationals lived in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, with a post on social media linking them to a local motorcycling group.

Writing on Facebook, David Toogood said: "Two of our favourite friends, in the Market Harborough Bikers group, have sadly lost their lives in the Italian cable car accident.

"They will be missed so much. Graeme and Elaine Wynne."

The post prompted a number of tributes.

An Israeli national was also reportedly among the four victims who died in the crash at Monte Faito in the town of Castellammare di Stabia.

Rescuers say there was only one survivor, who remains in a critical condition.

A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson said: "We are dealing with an incident in Italy and are in contact with the local authorities. Our thoughts are with those affected.

"Our staff are available 24/7 to support British nationals abroad."
