Man charged with murdering woman in Tottenham

He's set to appear in court later.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder, Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent, intentional strangulation and two counts of rape.

Simon Levy, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, was charged on Sunday, 7 September.

He will appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court on Monday, 8 September.

The charges relate to the death of Sheryl Wilkins, 39, who sadly died in August this year, and a second victim who cannot be named at this stage due to the nature of the offences.

The victims’ families are receiving support from specially trained officers.

On Sunday, 24 August at around 07:30hrs, a 39-year-old woman was found unresponsive in High Road, Tottenham. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation began following an inconclusive a post-mortem examination result.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, 4 September by the Met’s Specialist Crime team on suspicion of murdering Sheryl.

The investigation continues.
