Man charged with attempted murder after police officer sustained serious injuries in road collision
Simranjit Kajla, 28, was charged with attempted murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance.
A man has been charged with attempted murder after a road traffic incident that resulted in a Thames Valley Police Officer sustaining serious injuries.
Simranjit Kajla, aged 28, of Lydford Avenue, Slough, has been charged today (27/5) with one count each of attempted murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance.
The charges are in connection with an incident on the B416 Bells Hill, Stoke Poges, at around 10.20pm on Thursday (22/5).
A police officer, PC Christopher Miller, sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Kajla is due to appear before Reading Magistrates’ Court today (27/5).
A 38 year old from Slough, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving will remain in police custody after a warrant of further detention was granted, has been released on police bail until 23 August.
A 43-year-old man from Slough, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice, has been released under investigation.
A 37-year-old woman from Slough, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice, is still in police custody at this time.
