Man arrested after four people injured in city centre collision

A man has been arrested after four people were injured in a collision in Leicester city centre.
It happened on Vaughan Way at 10.12pm on Saturday (26 September).
Four pedestrians were crossing the road at a crossing towards the junction with Highcross Street, when they were in collision with a silver vehicle.
Three of the men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while over the prescribed limit for alcohol, and causing grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody.
A vehicle believed to be involved in the collision has been identified.
A spokesperson from Leicestershire Police said: "There were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and we would urge anyone who witnessed the collision or any party beforehand to make contact.
"If anyone was driving in the area and captured anything relevant on dashcam we would like to speak to you.
"This is being treated as an isolated incident and officers will be conducting enquiries in the area, we ask that people do not speculate about the circumstances and only share factual information from genuine sources."
