Three men have been charged with drugs offences after ketamine worth an estimated £10m was found at a house in a West Yorkshire village.
Officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit recovered around 500kg of the drug, packed into twenty black bin bags, during a raid in Upton on Wednesday evening.
A Statement from West Yorkshire Police said:
"Three men have been charged with drugs offences following the seizure of ketamine worth an estimated £10 million in a West Yorkshire village.
"In what is believed to be the UK’s second largest single seizure of the drug, officers recovered approximately 500kg of ketamine at an address in Rose Avenue, Upton, Pontefract, in an operation led by officers from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit.
"Officers found 20 black binbags found at the scene containing the drug Three men were arrested during the operation on Wednesday evening.
"Curtis Binns, 32, of Sunny Avenue, Upton, has been charged with possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply and money laundering. Paul Turner, 40, of Common Lane, Upton, has been charged with possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply. Christopher Wills, 42, from Wolverhampton, has been charged with supplying a Class B drug.
"They have been remanded to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today."
