Two arrests made in connection with Haverhill funfair stabbing

Two men have been arrested over a stabbing at a funfair in Haverhill, Suffolk.

A 15 year old boy was found injured early yesterday evening (Friday 2nd May 2025).

A 20 and 22 year old - who are from the town - remain in custody for questioning.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said:

"Police were called at just after 6.10pm yesterday evening, Friday 2 May, to reports that a boy had sustained stab wounds on the Recreation Ground off Camps Road.

"The suspect of the stabbing is then alleged to have been assaulted himself, sustaining a kick to the head.

"The victim of the stabbing, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital for treatment but has now been discharged.

"Two people were subsequently arrested as follows: a 20-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; and a 22-year-old man on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm.

"Both men are from Haverhill and have been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre, where they currently remain for questioning."
