Firefighters from Weymouth, Dorchester, and Bere Regis are actively tackling a fire near Weymouth skatepark.
The fire was reported at 3.45pm and is affecting electrical infrastructure, which has spread to nearby trees and bushes.
Dorset Police have closed the road as firefighters wearing breathing apparatus use two hose reels and a main line to extinguish the blaze.
Additional resources have been requested to assist in managing the fire.
