Family of man killed in Essex aircraft incident appeal for help to bring him home
Vamshi Krishna Mandala just finished his Master's degree and was celebrating with a flight experience when it crashed in High Ongar in June
The family of an Indian man who died in a fatal aircraft incident in Essex have launched a public appeal to help bring him home to India.
Vamshi Krishna Mandala, who had recently completed his Master's degree while living in the UK, was killed in a plane crash in High Ongar on 30 June.
It was intended to be a 30-minute celebratory flight experience.
His brother, Nitesh Krishna Mandala, has launched an appeal to raise money for the international repatriation, funeral costs and the legal and transportation expenses involved in returning Vamshi to his family.
According to the appeal, the flight had been booked to celebrate Vamshi's recent academic achievement and the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
The family say the funds will be used to cover the cost of transporting Vamshi's body to India, as well as funeral arrangements and the documentation required throughout the repatriation process.
In the fundraising appeal, Nitesh said the family hoped to give Vamshi "the dignified farewell he deserves" surrounded by loved ones in India.
The appeal comes as the Essex community continues to reflect on the fatal aircraft accident, with tributes being paid to those who lost their lives.
The family hope that support from both the local community and people further afield will help bring Vamshi home.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
