A man has been charged with murder after the body of a woman was found in Derby last week.

Police were called to a flat on Ashe Place in Normanton on Thursday 5 June to find a 47-year-old already deceased.

Derbyshire Police increased patrols in the area but detectives say they believe it to be an isolated incident. At the time of the arrest, Chief Inspector Lauren Woods said: "We would like to provide reassurance that this incident is believed to be isolated and took place inside a property."

Thomas Turner, 63, of no fixed address has now been charged with murder and is due in Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court today (9 June).
