2.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN
There will be one (1) winner each day, (Tuesday-Friday) throughout the period of Tuesday 7th April 2026 – Friday 10th April 2026 (the “Competition Period”) during the KISS Breakfast Show between 06:00-10:00, each winning the prizes described in section 5.0 “The Prize”.
Mechanic
o Each weekday, during the Competition Period listeners will have a chance to win two separate vouchers, each with a value of £50.
o Each weekday during the Competition Period, it shall be made clear exactly which Prize is on offer, before the Competition opens.
o The solicit will take place the working day prior to the Competition being recorded and the round being broadcast on air.
o Across the Competition Period, we’ll invite listeners to take part in ‘Big KISS Mood’, the fun KISS Breakfast game that asks a simple question: ‘What does your mate do that gives you the ‘ick’
o The contestant must come to air and reveal what their mate does to give them the ‘ick’.
o Their ‘mate’ will then be brought to air alongside them, to take part in this Competition, whereby the contestant must admit to their mate what it is they do that give them the ick.
o . If a nominated entrant is shortlisted, the original entrant will be responsible for contacting their nominated person and inviting them to contact KISS Breakfast to take part in the on-air Competition. Kiss cannot contact any nominees directly without their permission. If the nominated person declines to take part or is unavailable, the original entrant may be disqualified and an alternative entrant selected at the discretion of the production team
o
o Once we have spoken to the mate, alongside the contestant, we will agree a time in which we will call them back the subsequent working day to take part in the Competition and subsequently broadcast the Round on air. The exception will be day 1 of the Competition, in which we will solicit and complete the Round of the Competition on the same day, followed by a solicit and entrant selection for the following day of the Competition
o We will contact two entrants – a main entrant and a shortlisted entrant. Both will be spoken to and we will be asked for their nominated ‘mate ’ to make contact with. If at point of recording, we are unable to contact the first selected contestant or either their ‘mate or date’ we will move on to the shortlisted contestant and their ‘mate or date’. If the first selected contestant and their ‘mate’ plays as planned, we will not proceed with a Round with the shortlisted contestant. In this instance, the shortlisted contestant would be free to enter the Competition again for future Rounds. The shortlisted entrant will be informed upon us making initial contact with them, that they are on the shortlist.
o The mate will not have to answer any question, only listen to the entry from the contestant. The prize will only be awarded if the entrant’s nominated friend agrees to appear on air alongside them. If the friend participates, the prize described in section 5.0 “The Prize” will be issued.
2.1 Submitting Entries
• Entrants must submit a voice note to our dedicated WhatsApp line (03330 916 974), telling us about their friendship dramas, calling out their mates for situations that annoy them or gives them the ‘ick’ during the Entry Period (3.0).
• Entrants must also alert their chosen ‘mate’; they have entered the competition at time of entry, so they are ready to get in contact with us if their entry is chosen. Only those who can confirm they have contacted a “mate” have validly entered the Competition.
• Entrants must provide their own story and name, keeping any other people involved in the story anonymous. Stories should be light-hearted and humorous, as further described below.
• In the event of a WhatsApp outage affecting UK users, winner(s) will be selected from entries already submitted during the Entry Period.
2.2 Shortlisting Selection
• All valid entries will be reviewed by a judging panel made up of the Kiss Production Team, the Production Manager and an independent judge. They will select a shortlist of up to 5 entries (minimum of 1, maximum of 5) daily as set out below. Valid entries will be judged on the following criteria:
• We’re looking for the funniest, most entertaining and unexpected stories that stand out on air. KISS brand filter will be applied to all stories.
o It must be a personal story. No second-hand or made-up stories are allowed.
o Entries must be suitable for broadcast, with no offensive, discriminatory or explicit content.
o No names are to be used. The station reserves the right to edit entries for playout on air.
o The station reserves the right to change the entrants name and other details in the voice note.
o The station also reserves the right to distort the audio.
o Entries should be concise (guidance is to aim for under 1 minute).
o Entries from each day of the Competition will roll over to the next day, if they are not selected as a winner for that day. They can continue to roll over to other days as such.
o The same pool of entries will be used throughout the Entry Period, meaning that an entrant’s chances of winning may decrease throughout the Entry Period, as entry numbers increase.
• There will be a new list of entrants each day. If an entrant has entered but is not invited to take part in the competition Round, they will be permitted to enter again for future Rounds as detailed in Section 1. If an entrant makes the shortlist but is not brought forward to play the final Round, they will be permitted to enter future Round.
• The original entrant will be responsible for contacting their nominated person (the mate) and inviting them to contact KISS Radio to take part in the on-air Competition. KISS cannot contact any nominees directly without their permission. If the nominated person declines to take part or is unavailable, the original entrant may be disqualified and an alternative entrant selected at the discretion of the production team.
On day one of the Competition Period, Tuesday 7th April 2026, the first Round will take place. The contestant’s nominated person (the “mate”) will be contacted on the preceding day, Monday 6th April 2026, and will have 10 minutes from the time we first make contact with the contestant to get in touch with the KISS production team by calling the studio number provided. If they do not make contact within this time, we will move on to another entrant. The same process will apply to every subsequent Round of the Competition, with entrants contacted the day before their scheduled Round.
