Two people are in custody this morning after being arrested on suspicion of the murder of County Down woman Lisa Dorrian, who disappeared over 20 years ago.
The 25-year-old from Bangor was last seen alive in February 2005 at a party at a caravan park in the village of Ballyhalbert.
Her body has never been found.
A 42 year old man was arrested in Scotland yesterday, as well as a 40 year old woman in Bangor.
The man is being questioned on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information, and preventing a lawful and decent burial.
Detective Chief Inspector Kerrie Foreman acknowledged the support of Police Scotland, as well as the PSNI’s Cross-Border Transit Officers.
She said, “It’s almost 21 years since Lisa’s disappearance and murder. That’s 21 years of torture for a loving family."
“I am keen to take every opportunity to encourage anyone with information to do the right thing and come forward.”
A 40-year-old woman arrested earlier yesterday remains in police custody.
She’s being questioned on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information, and preventing a lawful and decent burial.
