A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Sutton Coldfield.
Police were called to the car park of the Beggars Bush pub on Chester Road just before 2am this morning.
A man in his 20s had been stabbed.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he died at the scene.
Police said officers are reviewing CCTV and speaking to witnesses as they work to establish what happened.
It is believed a large number of people had been at the venue for an event.
Police are appealing for anyone who was there, or who has information about what happened, to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Stacey Follows, from the Major Crime Unit, said: "Our investigation is at an early stage, and our thoughts are with the man's family and friends today."
She said: "We will continue to support them as our investigation progresses, and I'd urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam or CCTV to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
