Hertfordshire Police have announced that a man previously arrested on suspicion of rape will face no charges, following an investigation.

The individual, connected to the popular TV show Strictly Come Dancing, was arrested in London on 13th October 2025.

Despite initial suspicions, police did not find sufficient evidence to proceed with criminal charges.

The man, whose identity remains undetermined, was not involved with the show's contestants or professional dancers.

His bail had been extended until 7th April 2026 to allow additional enquiries.

Police sought early advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, but ultimately determined the evidence was lacking.

BBC News reports that the arrest was not related to the latest series of Strictly.

The BBC declined to comment on the incident.

It comes after another male star of the BBC show was arrested in August last year on suspicion of rape.

The man in his 30s, who has not been named, was also detained over a separate alleged offence of “non-consensual intimate image abuse”.

It is not known what role the second man had on the show.
