A prison tutor has been warned she could face being sent to jail after pleading guilty to having an intimate relationship with an inmate.

Kelly Duffey, 36, of Amesbury, Wiltshire, has pleaded guilty at Winchester Crown Court to two charges of misconduct in a public office in connection with the affair with Ashley Goodridge at HMP Erlestoke.

The 38-year-old prisoner has also pleaded guilty to sending a photo using a phone from the category C men's prison.

The court heard that Duffey admitted having an "intimate relationship" with Goodridge between July and September 2024 which involved kissing and one "physical sexual encounter".

Recorder Gemma White warned Duffey she could face a prison term when both defendants were sentenced on April 16.

Releasing her on unconditional bail, the judge told her: "Your plea having been entered today means that this case now falls to be sentenced.

"The court will be considering all sentencing options, including the likelihood of an immediate custodial sentence."
