£1 billion helicopter contract announcement takes place in Yeovil

The Defence Minister Luke Pollard has taken part in the announcement of a £1 billion helicopter contract between Leonardo and the government in Yeovil.

The deal will provide the UK Armed Forces with 23 new medium-lift helicopters and secure thousands of jobs at the plant.

The agreement also helps with the future of the UK’s sovereign helicopter production and Leonardo’s facility in Yeovil, sustaining 3,300 jobs.

These roles are including working directly and also the thousands more who are involved with autonomous systems work and providing ongoing.
