Police investigating a fatal stabbing during a fight in Primrose Hill in London on the 7th April have named the victim as Finbar Sullivan, a 21-year-old filmmaking student.

Finbar, pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts, had visited the park to use a new camera gifted for his birthday.

His father, Christopher Sullivan, has expressed overwhelming grief and disbelief at the “indiscriminate” and “devastating” loss.

Christopher told the Daily Mail: “This is the worst tragedy I could ever imagine. He’s my only son… I had him when I was 45. He can never be replaced.”

During the same incident, another man in his 20s suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations are continuing

Detectives are conducting urgent inquiries to identify those responsible, including analysing CCTV footage, speaking to witnesses, and gathering forensic evidence.

Detective Inspector Andy Griffin, leading the investigation, said: “Finbar’s family have suffered a devastating loss and our thoughts are with them as they navigate this very challenging time.”

Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, responsible for policing in the area, assured residents of increased police presence for community reassurance and investigation support.

For those with information, photographs, or videos that might assist the investigation, police urge uploads to their major incident portal or contact via 101, quoting reference CAD 6448/07Apr.

Anonymous reports can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
