About Pretty Hood
Born and raised in West London, Pretty Hood brings her Eritrean, East African flavour to the DJ scene with an undeniable passion for the Hip Hop & UK Rap culture.
Her energetic and lively sets have steadily begun to set the club scene alight in London being a Multi Genre DJ. Her deep knowledge of UK and US rap with the ability to spin Dancehall, Afrobeats, RnB, UK Funky/Garage, Amapiano and Old Skool Classics has earned her a residency at London night, So Fresh and So Clean as well as frequent sets at Boxpark, Shoreditch. Pretty Hood started her Radio journey at the age of 14 on Avenues FM at her local youth club Avenues as a hobby and later on found a real love for Radio presenting.
She has always championed new and up and coming UK Rap talent, previously hosting specialist Rap shows on stations such as Pulse88, The Beat London & Rinse Fm.
With close connections to UK Rap’s royalty, Pretty Hood kicked off herself titled YouTube show with none other than The Landlord himself, Giggs following up with R.A. (Real Artillery).
Hosting Link Up TV’s series ‘Live & Direct’ and featuring in ‘The Essence 3’, Pretty Hood continues to build a strong brand and establish herself as a prominent figure on our screens. In 2023, Pretty Hood adds to her roll call with a cameo appearance in Daniel Kaluuya’s film ‘The Kitchen’ starring Kano.
Shutting it down internationally with a legendary set at Yard in Paris, Pretty Hood has also DJ'd at movie premieres to name a few, ‘Nope’ (Daniel Kaluuya / Keke Palmer), ‘The Woman King' (Viola Davis) & Dungeons & Dragon’s (Chris Pine & Huge Grant) & ‘No Hard Feelings’ (Jennifer Lawrence).
Recently becoming Tiny boost’s official DJ, she has also Dj’d for established artists like Kano, Jorja Smith, Giggs, Casisdead, K Trap, Unknown T, Rimzee & more.
Pretty Hood, is frequently requested to play at popular brand events for Nike, Flannels, Size, JD, Levis, The GRM Gala, GRM NFL Launch, The Grand Master Flash Party, Notting Hill Carnival, Elrow & Witcombe Festival as well as headline shows for DD Osama (USA) B Lovee, (USA) Novelist, Millyz (USA), Lavida Loca, Tiny Boost, Youngs Teflon.
