A man has suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a tiger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster.
South Yorkshire Police said it received reports of a man entering a tiger enclosure at the popular attraction at 1.35pm on Saturday, October 10.
The force confirmed the tiger subsequently attacked the man, resulting in serious injury.
Officers are now working to make contact with the man's family, with police saying no further details would be released at this time.
The tiger remained in the enclosure following the incident, and police said there was no wider risk to the public.
Police also confirmed they were aware of videos circulating online and urged people not to share the footage.
The spokesperson said: “We are aware of videos circulating online and we would encourage people not to share this distressing footage.”
Yorkshire Wildlife Park, located in Branton, near Doncaster, closed earlier today following the incident.
The South Yorkshire park confirmed that emergency response procedures were immediately activated, with emergency services attending the scene.
In a statement, the park said it was working closely with the authorities to establish exactly what happened.
A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a serious incident has occurred today at the tiger enclosure.
“Our emergency response procedures were immediately activated, and emergency services are currently attending the scene.
“We are working closely with the authorities to ascertain exactly what happened.
“The safety and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and animals remain our highest priority.”
The park has confirmed it will remain closed tomorrow as the incident is investigated.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed it was called to the incident at 1.33pm on Saturday, October 10.
A number of emergency resources were sent to the scene, including two land ambulances, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor.
In a statement, Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “I can confirm we were called at 13.33 on Saturday 10 October 2026 to an incident at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.
“We sent a number of resources, including two land ambulances, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor.
